Step inside Soar into Story where the pages of Caldecott picture book award winner, Gerald McDermott’s Raven: A Trickster Tale from the Pacific Northwest and Coyote: A Trickster Tale from the American Southwest unfold. Join tricksters, Raven and Coyote, as they soar off their pages and lead you into a magical world of visual, oral, and interactive stories to build your understanding of the power of great books. Soar into Story is followed by; Tricksters: The Adventures of Jabuti and Zomo where the pages of Gerald McDermott’s Jabuti The Tortoise: A Trickster from the Amazon and Zomo The Rabbit: A Trickster Tale from West Africa come to life. These exhibits are divided into four distinct areas that include; story listening, story retelling and acting, and Gerald’s Studio. This 1,200 square foot exhibit opens in the Fall of 2008.
